Audrey's Guide to Black Magic

After recruiting a small army of beta-readers and pouring over their feedback, I've finally published Audrey's Guide to Black Magic, Book II in the Audrey's Guide series. This is part of my ongoing experiment with indie publishing. Though I still intend to publish some of my books the traditional way, this series presented me with the opportunity to do it all myself, and I have to say it's been an educational process. One of the highlights has been increased contact with my readers; the response from people willing to read and offer feedback on early drafts of this book blew me away. Many of them sent pages and pages of thoughtful, detailed notes, and some even rolled up their sleeves to copyedit the manuscript. Who knew that readers would be so diligent and generous? I'm totally grateful and humbled by their contributions.

Audiobook-A-Go-Go!

My new microphone just arrived--I seriously love this baby! She's so pretty, so 1940s, yet very simple and practical. Plugs right into my computer! I plan to record audiobooks now, a lifelong dream of mine. I love reading books aloud, and I devour audiobooks at an alarming rate. Until now the hope of producing my own audiobooks seemed rather impractical and hardly worth the effort, but now that Amazon purchased Audible and started the Audiobook Creation Exchange, it seems much more doable. I'll keep you posted. I still have questions, but I'm determined to get answers and make this dream come true. There's just nothing like someone telling you a story, and there's nothing so revealing for a writer as reading one's work aloud.
